Some July Things

We managed to cram a few more fun things in to July before it left us.
Maybe I should divide these up in to numerous blog posts, but I never get the time....so get ready!

We blessed our baby boy, Spencer, in church on July 17th. It was so beautiful. Then he promptly messed his blessing outfit and had to change out of it. So, no pictures!
Dang it.
But we did get a few pictures of the fun luncheon we had with our family and friends.

Taking a nap during a big day

Lovin' on his Aunt Becky

Fooooooood!
With Gma and Gpa Layton

While Ben was in San Diego for Comic Con the next week, I thankfully stayed with his family while they were Here. Teresa took such good care of us, and even braved the spinning strawberry ride at the carnival for Harmony!

See, the 24th of July is Pioneer Day. So in Utah they have all these things going on that week. Utah LOVES fireworks, so they shoot them off a second time in July for this holiday. Lucky us, they light them in the park behind Ben's parents house, so we get a cozy close-up view....

They also have a sweet carnival for a few days! and I got to go with Ben's bro Matt, and his sisters Becky and Sarah. It was pretty sweet to get out and play for a while.
Apart from making myself totally sick on the "Tornado."
Next time I volunteer to ride one of those rides despite my better judgement,
just punch me in the face ok? :)

Harmony LOVED the fireworks show this year! She was clapping and shouting and really excited. I'm not sure if you can see her in this video, but you can definitely hear her having fun :)

Here's the video Link cos uploading to Blogger is ridiculous.

Then, our friend and neighbor McKinley invited us to join her for CAMP PROVO! It's basically her family's celebration of all the awesome things to do around here near Provo. It lasts several days and she planned tons of super fun activities to do! Here's the ones we went and did...

First, we went to Provo Beach Resort with Steve! We rode the carousel, played games and played in the playplace for EVER. Later that day we got to see behind the scenes of the 2nd largest post office hub in Utah, the East Bay Post Office!

 In the play house

Post Office Tour!

Then we went to Kneaders for all you can eat French Toast...which we each ate two of those HUGE suckers...
Taking a break from eating to pose for a pic

THEN we got a private tour of the the LDS Motion Picture Production Studios in Provo! Basically any Mormon film you've ever seen probably has been shot here...I know I recognized a lot of scenery! It was awesome...and BEAUTIFUL! It was like traveling all the way to Illinois to be in the trees and shade ... but with no humidity ;) It was way fun!!

SO, here is a link to allllll the pictures

Next Up...COMIC CON

Month ONE

So! It has been one month since Spencer was born.

My babies! Harmony loves to hold her brother

Okay well, one month and a few days because I am not efficient enough about posting blogs.

At any rate, here's a few of the things Spencer has done in his first whole month!

  • Lots of tummy aches :(
  • Gone to the doctor 3 times!
  • Went to the Balloon Festival for the 4th of July
  • Attended a party for the 4th with our friend's the Porter's
  • Experienced the awesomeness of fireworks!
  • Had lots of cuddles from his mom dad and big sister
  • and now weighs in at 7lbs 14oz and grew a whole inch!
Which is still pretty small on the scale. So we're working hard to get some meat on those little bones! He's doing great though and we've loved every second of our little guy in our lives...yes, even the seconds of screaming ;)

 looking just like his daddy

Harmony has been keeping me busy as well.

She LOVES to ride around on her bike. Anytime I will take her out in the hot sun, she's on that bike!

And of course YOUR LINK to the rest of the fun pictures and videos!

Long December

December was quite the busy month.  Of course, it is for most people.  We took a trip up to Denver to mourn with Jenn and Sam and our family for the loss of sweet little Allison.  Harmony and Cameron did get to spend some time together, and even got along for some of it!

Here they are chilling out watching a movie

Harmony had a really fun Christmas.  We took a few videos to show how much fun she had opening her presents from her Grandpas and Grandmas, so they could see how she loves them :)

More AZ Activities

In Arizona this October, we were able to visit quite a few of our friends and family!

 Cuddling with Jensen as always
Actually getting along with Reilly for a minute

It was a nice extended trip, with Harmony and I going down a week before Ben came down.

We visited Tucson quite often, and were able to meet up with Ben's Grandma and Aunt and Uncle (and cousin!). We got to feed the ducks and play on the playground at Reid Park. We have a few videos of visiting with them. Luckily the day wasn't too hot :)

My best friend Alanna, showed Harmony an awesome shark tank in downtown Tucson. We almost couldn't pull her away from it! We had lunch at my favorite non-Egees Tucson restaurant, Bison Witches!

I made a point to visit all the tasty restaurants that I love so much, and don't have in Utah. It was almost as much of a food trip as it was to see family!

Harmony's favorite discovery this trip to AZ was....THE CACTUS!! She LOVES cactus. Even back at home, she will find a cactus shape in the most obscure places, or on TV, and exclaim "a cactus! a cactus!"

Picking up daddy at the airport and discovering Cactus

My cousin Aimee was able to spend a lot of time with us too! Harmony just loves Aimee :)

During November, we got to spend some time with her Aunt Becky. They played in the snow and in the tunnel tent H loves so much.

We also took a trip to see the Christmas Temple Lights and met my cousin Elisa and her family! It was so cold! But it was worth it to meet up with Elisa again :)

Harmony was having a lot of fun and loved the huge Christus- despite the blurry picture
